School Health Assistant/Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our School Health Team as an Administrative Support Worker. The successful candidate will provide administrative and practical support to the team, ensuring the smooth delivery of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate communications between schools, the School Health Team, and parents for the National Child Measurement Programme.
- Identify children whose parents have withdrawn consent for growth measurements and ensure this is communicated and recorded.
- Complete growth measurements and record them on the child's electronic health record.
- Communicate and interact with children in an age-appropriate way to ensure they feel at ease and understand the activity.
- Liaise with the information management team regarding NCMP data and communications to parents.
- Identify child safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships between the School Health Team and borough schools.
- Assist in the delivery of health-promoting activities with appropriate training and supervision.
- Ensure accurate and contemporaneous record-keeping on the electronic record.
- Collect and record activity monitoring data as required.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Travel around the borough.
- Car driver or bike user with access to a vehicle (car and bike schemes available).
- Occupational health clearance required.

- Familiarity with NHS and education settings.

- Excellent understanding of communicating with children and families.
- Good written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to work under own initiative.
- Demonstrate evidence of team-working abilities.
- Excellent administration skills.
- Ability to work with other professionals, voluntary, and statutory agencies.
- Ability to adopt or work in different settings and environments.
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Health and social care, public sector, or education qualification training.
- Child Protection training.
- IT training or relevant qualification.
