About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our School Health Team as a Health Service Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the administration and delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme across the borough.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate communications between schools, the School Health Team, and parents for the delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme.
  • To identify children whose parents have withdrawn consent for growth measurements and ensure this is communicated and recorded.
  • To complete growth measurements as per the NCMP operational guidance and locally agreed policy and guidance, ensuring measurements are recorded and transported with due regard to agreed processes and data protection.
  • To record each child's measurements on their electronic health record and communicate with the information management team regarding the processing of NCMP data and communications to parents.
  • To be able to identify child safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action as per child safeguarding policy and guidelines.
  • To create, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships between the School Health Team and the borough's schools.
  • To assist in the delivery of health-promoting activities where appropriate training has been provided and with supervision.
  • To ensure accurate and contemporaneous record-keeping on the electronic record and collect and record activity monitoring data as required.

Requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS check will be required.
  • Travel around the borough is essential.
  • A car driver or bike user with access to a vehicle is required, with bike storage facilities available.
  • Occupational health clearance is required.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Data entry experience.
  • Coordination of groups experience.
  • Working with members of the public experience.
  • Familiarity with NHS and education settings is desirable.
  • Working directly with children is desirable.
