Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site and corporate important metric measures, including customer management, ensuring actions are completed on target.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working autonomously to generate, report on and deliver project plans for all own engineering activities.
  • Leading site and corporate important metric measures, including customer management, ensuring actions are completed on target.
  • Offering expertise and steering new product introductions on automation engineering topics to define activity required to deliver the automation strategy of the project.
  • Offering technical support on automation issues to the engineering and operations teams to resolve unplanned maintenance issues.
  • Leading continuous improvement automation projects to improve reliability of site equipment.
  • Carrying out crucial periodic software reviews to guarantee compliance with all regularity bodies.
  • Acting as client liaison when required and working closely with respective counterparts as client site to align processes across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Offering mentorship and expertise to the engineering maintenance team in problem solving issues associated with site wide utilities, including purified water, pure steam, and calibrated equipment.
  • Ensuring cGMP is applied in the work area and aligns with cGMP through following site SOP's.
  • Offering mentorship and support to a small team of engineers, to ensure compliance with site wide preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to empower, communicate and lead their own team and multi-functional teams to deliver project timelines.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree qualified and/or with advanced, shown experience in PLC controlled production facilities.
  • Experience in Allen Bradley PLC programming from first principles as well as advanced fault finding in both local control environments and network systems.
  • Strong project management background within, for example, production engineering, process engineering within a regulated environment.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities with urgency to resolve.
  • Client facing experience preferred.
