About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our team at Freedom Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work on a variety of complex engineering projects that contribute to achieving the UK's Net Zero targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural engineering design, including calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Conduct surveys, assessments, and research on new engineering techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including sales, technical design, construction, and quality teams.
  • Manage your time effectively, meeting project deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
  • A relevant engineering degree (ideally an MSc in Structural Engineering) and working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IStructE or ICE.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), PDF editors, AutoCAD, and relevant specialist software.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports, particularly in masonry buildings, steel structures, drainage systems, and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience with BIM/CAD management and maintaining data integrity and version control.
  • Experience working on Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and Transmission projects, with relevant authorizations or actively pursuing them.
