We are looking for an experienced midwife to join our maternity practice development team as a Clinical Educator. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of midwifery practice, developing and delivering educational programs that enhance patient care.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing the induction, orientation, and ongoing training of newly qualified midwives and maternity support workers. Your expertise will help them develop the necessary skills to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the PROMPT faculty and plan the maternity training program, focusing on essential skills development.
  • Work closely with the clinical governance midwife, maternity matrons, and obstetric, anaesthetic, and neonatal training leads to deliver effective training initiatives.
  • Support the induction, orientation, and ongoing training of band 6 and above midwives.
Person Specification

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A practicing/NMC registered midwife with significant experience and post-registration education to degree level.
  • Evidence of education to degree level.
  • A teaching and assessing/mentor preparation qualification.
  • Evidence of other professional managerial qualifications.
  • Qualifications demonstrating training in advanced skills, such as Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics or Neonatal Life Support.
