An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Respiratory Physiology Service at the University Hospital of North Midlands, a leading healthcare provider in the region. As a Senior Respiratory Physiologist, you will play a key role in providing specialist clinical services for the investigation and treatment of respiratory and non-respiratory disorders.

The Respiratory Medicine service at UHNM provides a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service for the local population, as well as being the tertiary referral centre for surrounding counties. The service is predominantly outpatient-based, with a dedicated respiratory physiology department at Royal Stoke Hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our physiology team, who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service. As a Senior Respiratory Physiologist, you will work closely with the service lead to provide specialist clinical services, including the investigation and treatment of respiratory and non-respiratory disorders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical physiology, with experience in specialist procedures and a commitment to ongoing professional development. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build working relationships with colleagues and patients.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing specialist clinical services for the investigation and treatment of respiratory and non-respiratory disorders
  • Working closely with the service lead to develop and implement service improvements
  • Contributing to the development of our service, including the design and delivery of training programs
  • Providing high-quality patient care, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Clinical Physiology / MSc or equivalent degree
  • ARTP / RCCP / AHCS qualified
  • Experience in specialist procedures, including respiratory physiology and therapeutics

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Teaching qualification
  • Commissioning experience
