About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong technical and analytical skills, leadership ability, and a passion for developing innovative solutions.

As a Control Engineer, you will work closely with our military customers and industry partners to develop and evaluate air vehicle and missile concepts. You will be responsible for further developing an existing 6 degrees-of-freedom model, using it to evaluate the feasibility and performance of air vehicle and missile concepts against given requirements.

You will also be involved in concept analysis, autopilot synthesis, and guidance loop design across all flight phases. Additionally, you will assist with the assessment of the flying qualities of air vehicles concepts, including stability, agility, manoeuvrability, and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex mathematical models of air vehicle and missile systems
  • Conduct analysis and simulation of system performance and feasibility
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative solutions
  • Communicate technical results to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of control engineering
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or numerate discipline
  • Strong mathematical content and analytical skills
  • Experience in defence programmes or projects
  • Experience with formal software version control
  • Experience in applying the GNC disciplines in a project-based weapon design cycle
  • PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering field
