Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our Estates Team at The Children's Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our health and safety objectives are met, including setting the organisational strategy for health and safety.
The ideal candidate will have the authority to require the immediate cessation of any unsafe working practices and will be the lead and designated "competent person" for all health and safety matters, including fire safety.
The role will involve working closely with staff to ensure that they are aware of and comply with health and safety policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring that all necessary safety measures are in place.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of health and safety policies and procedures and to provide training and guidance to staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure that all necessary safety measures are in place
- Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with health and safety policies and procedures
- Contribute to the development of health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience in health and safety management
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively
