We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our client, a leading global business based in Birmingham. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost for the department. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Director to maximize individual and plant-wide productivity, quality, and technical skill development to ensure on-time shipments and customer satisfaction, as well as reducing variable costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day throughput to agreed levels
  • Coach and develop production manager capability
  • Drive continuous improvement in the area
  • Set up daily standard meetings to manage performance and exceptions
  • Establish 6S standards to maximize efficiency
  • Work alongside Engineering to ensure all issues/planned maintenance is completed in a timely manner
  • Develop operators to multi-skill and gain flexibility across multiple assets

Requirements:

  • Experience managing medium to large teams
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to a union environment would be advantageous
  • Experience and examples of motivating and developing teams to meet performance requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO9001
