Role Overview
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Health Care Assistant to join our team at a mixed primary and secondary specialist SEN school. This role involves providing personalized care and support to students with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop social, communication, and life skills.

About Us
We work closely with schools to provide an inclusive learning environment for children with various special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties, and physical disabilities. Our staff are committed to empowering each child to achieve their full potential through individualized support and care.

The Job
This position requires a proactive and flexible individual who can work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure every student feels valued and supported in their learning journey. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Providing tailored support to students in their daily learning activities, helping them access the curriculum.
  2. Assisting with personal care and physical needs of students, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, in accordance with individual care plans.
  3. Supporting the development of social, communication, and life skills, helping students build confidence and independence.
  4. Working with teachers to implement educational health care plans and tracking student progress.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need experience working with children or adults with SEN or disabilities in an educational, healthcare, or social care setting. You should possess compassion, patience, and a strong desire to support the well-being and development of children with special needs. A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to meeting the challenges and rewards of working in an SEN environment is essential. Desired qualifications include NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or a relevant qualification.
