Job Overview

At Halfords, we're committed to leveraging data-driven insights to drive business growth and efficiency. As a Group Supply Chain Data Scientist, you'll play a critical role in unlocking the value of our data lake and informing strategic decisions across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and determine how data can be used to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain stakeholders to identify business opportunities and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Design and implement data visualizations and dashboards to provide actionable insights and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain statistical models and machine learning algorithms to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Work closely with the Group Data Platform team to ensure seamless data ingestion and integration.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate embedding a self-service capability for operational business users.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst with a strong background in statistical programming and database query languages.
  • Experience in data mining, data wrangling, and working with big-data technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a collaborative style.
  • BSc/BA in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a relevant field; graduate degree in data science or another quantitative field is essential.
