About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading small to medium-sized projects to deliver agreed outcomes and deliverables within time, cost, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine project management, technical services, and external resources required for projects.
  • Deliver project objectives in line with the project execution plan, leading and supervising the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and actively engage in health, safety, and wellbeing aspects of the project at all stages.
  • Prepare and modify project plans as necessary, keeping them updated and relevant over the course of the project.
  • Oversee project timeframes and project budgets, ensuring diligent budget management and highlighting any risks, challenges, and mitigations.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties and stakeholders to ensure robust quality systems are in place and suitably managed and monitored.
  • Lead relevant meetings, providing contextual information and analysis where required, and ensure site walks are suitably recorded.
  • Partner with stakeholders and actively involve in risk management.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with all project parties and stakeholders, ensuring completion of responsibilities and tasks, and ensuring suitable standards and records are recorded and maintained.
  • Document and take ownership of project changes as necessary, tracking project changes.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium-sized projects.
  • Developed communication, presentation, and project planning and development skills.
  • Developed budgetary oversight expertise.
  • Advanced proficiency in communicating, coordinating activities, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Display strong communication and negotiation skills to support the client/customer focus.
  • Proactively manage internal budgets and fees, delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific industry/sector/market of project/role.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio.
  • Sound technical expertise in Health and Safety Executive (HSE) rules and specific sector/market regulations relevant to project portfolio.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry/sector/markets and an understanding of required specialism.
  • Seeks opportunities for implementing improved working practices.
  • Seeks out opportunities for service differentiation and facilities implementation.
  • Manages relevant stakeholders for projects.
  • Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uses advanced communication skills to collaborate with others to guide others to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving planning, estimating, contract administration, and procurement issues within construction and design activities.
  • Partners with others providing day-to-day project leadership to achieve deliverables.
  • May manage small teams, providing guidance, direction, coaching, and coordination for team members.
  • Acts as the central point of contact for project portfolio for relevant stakeholders, internal and externally.
  • Provides support and develops the project team, sharing knowledge to upskill others.
  • Mentors and develops the project team, providing a safe work environment to learn and mature.
  • Mentors and develops individuals, sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Champions and operates within an inclusivity environment.
  • Interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiation, problem-solving and analytical thinking, technology and process, verbal communication, written communication.
  • Understands personal strengths and weaknesses, seeks learning and support where appropriate.
  • Substantial previous work experience in project management (or equivalent).
  • MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS (or working towards) or local equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualifications in related (project management and/or construction-related discipline), non-related degree or equivalent professional experience/apprenticeship, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.
  • Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card or equivalent.
What We Offer
  • Knowledge of consultancy, construction, infrastructure, and property sectors/markets and an understanding of estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, commercial controls, and reporting.
  • Prince2 (or alternative local equivalent).
  • Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or local equivalent.
