Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team as a Corporate Communications Lead. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our external communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the head of corporate communications and investor relations to formulate a comprehensive external communications plan.
  • Oversee daily press office operations, ensuring prompt responses to media inquiries.
  • Craft and distribute press releases, opinion pieces, feature articles, and social media content (excluding employer branding).
  • Prepare and brief members of the executive team for media engagements, public speaking opportunities, and stakeholder interactions.
  • Assist in managing reputational challenges, working in tandem with the head of corporate communications and investor relations, as well as public relations consultants.
  • Evaluate and report on communication outcomes to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Administer The Very Group's corporate website.
  • Lead key initiatives related to The Very Group's corporate identity, including creative direction and messaging consistency.

About You:

We seek an enthusiastic, driven, and approachable individual eager to enhance their expertise within a high-performing team environment.

  • A background of three to five years in public relations, particularly in a corporate context. Experience in both agency and in-house settings is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with large, multifaceted organizations is advantageous, along with knowledge of retail, technology, and financial services sectors.
  • Proven ability to design and implement communication strategies, utilizing various tactics to meet objectives.
  • Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, with a knack for creating engaging content and a keen eye for detail.
  • Innovative thinking and a strong sense of storytelling to generate proactive media coverage and owned content.
  • Awareness of issues management and the capacity to identify potential reputational threats.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with the skill to influence senior management.
  • Confidence in engaging with journalists and other external parties.
  • High levels of self-motivation and effective time management skills.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms and experience in managing websites.
