Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Financial Operations at Barclays. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Work closely with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.

Control Weakness Identification and Mitigation

Identify and investigate potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework, prioritized by its severity to disrupt bank operations.

Reporting and Communication

Develop reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment, including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.

Review and Implementation

Execute reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.

Adherence to Controls Framework

Implement adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology for assessing controls against the Controls Framework.

Risk Mitigation and Policy Development

Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.

Ownership and Analysis

Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done, and engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources.
