Machinery Control Systems Designer

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Software Design Engineer to play a key role in the development and implementation of software solutions for our advanced machinery systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, with hands-on experience in programming PLCs and HMIs to optimise machinery performance and functionality.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to design and develop software solutions for machinery control systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Programming and configuring PLCs and HMIs to automate machinery processes, optimise performance, and ensure seamless integration with overall system architecture.
- Developing and maintaining software documentation, including functional specifications, design documents, and test plans, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting system testing and validation to verify software functionality, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Providing technical support to internal teams and external customers, troubleshooting software-related issues and offering timely solutions to minimise downtime.
