About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Principal Consultant to join our team at The Skills Coalition. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of nature sustainability for the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project delivery: You will be responsible for managing and delivering multiple complex projects, ensuring timely delivery, and meeting the required level of quality and technical substance.
  • Project Management: You will oversee the technical design of projects, ensuring they are on-budget and meet the necessary standards.
  • Environmental and Social Due Diligence: You will conduct assessments to identify potential risks and impacts on nature and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Strategy and Business Development: You will develop innovative proposals for new or existing clients and expand the business through networking and relationship-building.
  • Innovation and Communication: You will communicate our expertise through public speaking, writing, and reviewing materials for scientific and business press.
  • Team Management: You will lead junior consultants, mentoring and supporting their professional development.
Requirements
  • At least ten years of relevant experience in development projects with a focus on mining.
  • Experience in applying lender requirements, particularly International Finance Corporation's Performance Standard 6, to development projects in emerging economies.
  • Solid consultancy experience and excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Sufficient GIS skills to design and evaluate analyses with our GIS team.
  • Good track record of business development and client relationship management.
  • A good Honours degree in a relevant discipline.
