Highway Electrical Installation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Highway Electrical Installation Technician to join our Electrical Team based at our Head Office in Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will support the Electrical Operations team to undertake excavation, ducting and reinstatement works.

The key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Carrying out excavation and reinstatement works, installing ducting, posts and columns.
  • Complying with all relevant health and safety and environmental accreditations, maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment for colleagues and customers.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications, completed efficiently, effectively, safely and delivered within target.
  • Processing all paperwork and electronic data accurately, for submission to the supervisor for final approval.
  • Operating vehicles, plant, tools and equipment, ensuring correct use and unnecessary damage, complying with daily routine checks, recording to legal requirements and reporting any damages or defects found.
  • Providing a flexible approach to working times and days, depending on the needs of the business, and supporting work on an out of hours emergency call out rota to minimise disruption to the network.

The ideal candidate will have a full driving licence, knowledge of health and safety legislation, including risk assessments and method statements, and industry recognised qualifications such as the New Roads and Street Works Act, First Aid and Level 2 NVQ Diploma in highway electrical systems.

They will also have knowledge and experience in the use of plant, transport, materials and operations associated with highway electrical installation and maintenance activities, ability to work at heights, understand drawings, follow verbal and written instructions, and work as part of a team completing works efficiently and safely.
