London, Greater London, United Kingdom Kennet School - TES Full time
Join Our Team as a Head of Boys' PE

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Boys' PE to lead and inspire our pupils in a dynamic and thriving department, promoting a love of sport and physical fitness across all year groups.

Our PE Department is renowned for its excellence in teaching and learning, as well as a strong co-curricular provision with clubs running before, during, and after school. Pupils enjoy competing in over 350 external sports fixtures across a variety of sports, with House sport playing a key role in the wider life of the school. PE is a highly popular course choice, with BTEC, GCSE, and A Level consistently delivering excellent results. The Department boasts superb facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, sports hall, huge playing fields, cricket nets, floodlit multi-purpose pitches, gym, dance studio, and fitness suite.

Academic PE experience is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in our co-curricular programme.

We offer:

  1. A fantastic location next to an area of outstanding natural beauty and fast rail to London (45 minutes);
  2. An open and collaborative community that trusts its teachers;
  3. Outstanding facilities and resources;
  4. High-quality research-based professional development;
  5. A range of personal benefits, including a Cycle to Work Scheme, on-site leisure centre, and an active staff social committee;
  6. Strong discipline through rigid procedures for managing behaviour, including centralised detentions;
  7. A commitment to the wellbeing of our staff, including flexible working hours;
  8. The opportunity to be part of an Ofsted 'Outstanding' School that believes 'better never stops'.

We are looking for someone who is:

  1. Creative, with a forward-thinking attitude and unapologetically passionate about their subject;
  2. Committed to working collaboratively as part of a team and across the school;
  3. Willing to think creatively and take risks in the classroom;
  4. Hard-working with excellent organisational skills.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all employees, governors, trainees, and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and a social media check to validate details provided to support a job application.
