Job Title: Head of Physical Education

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Physical Education to lead our dynamic PE department at Harrow High School in London.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be passionate about physical education and sports, capable of delivering high-quality teaching, and enthusiastic about driving forward the strategic vision of the PE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the PE department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and balanced PE curriculum that promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and school teams.
  • Manage departmental resources, including equipment and facilities, to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching PE at the secondary school level, with a track record of outstanding results.
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and current educational best practices.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
