About the Role:

IW Volunteer is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Official Prison Visitors. In this role, you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of prisoners, many of whom have little to no contact with the outside world.

Your responsibilities will include visiting your assigned prisoner once a month, engaging in conversations, and building a relationship based on trust and empathy. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the prisoner's interests, hobbies, and daily life, which can lead to meaningful connections and friendships.

This role requires patience, understanding, and good communication skills, as well as the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact and are willing to commit to regular visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Visit assigned prisoner once a month
  • Engage in conversations and build a relationship based on trust and empathy
  • Learn about prisoner's interests, hobbies, and daily life

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £20,000-25,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. However, please note that this is a voluntary position, and compensation is not provided.
