GSL Education is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at a welcoming school in Westminster.
About the Role:
We are looking for an exceptional individual who can work closely with students, teachers, and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. As a Behaviour Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to implement behaviour support plans from teachers and the SENCO to manage challenging behaviours consistently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members to ensure a smooth and productive learning experience.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them understand and manage their emotions and actions in different situations.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and outside professionals to develop and review behaviour strategies that meet each student's needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and progress, sharing feedback with teachers and parents/guardians when needed.
- Support teachers in maintaining a productive learning space by using proactive strategies and providing assistance during lessons.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students who have behavioural challenges in schools or similar environments.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience to support students in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work well with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive school community.

Estimated salary: £95 per day (dependent on experience). This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
