About the Role

Cygnet Health Care is seeking a skilled Nurse Associate to join our team at Cygnet Churchill, an inpatient mental health hospital for men in south London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care planning and risk assessments with service users on admission and at appropriate intervals under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure all interventions are documented clearly and comprehensively in clinical notes, care plans, risk assessments, and other relevant documents under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Undertake medication administration duties in line with the NMC code, Cygnet Health Care policies, and own professional sphere of competence.
  • Complete safe and therapeutic observation and engagement duties in line with relevant Cygnet Health Care policies.
  • Assist individuals with all aspects of physical health assessments and interventions at the discretion of the nurse in charge.
  • Contribute to the prevention and management of abusive, aggressive, and challenging behavior in line with least restrictive practice.

Requirements

  • An experienced Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register or educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload, able to recognise own limitations in the context of the nursing associate role.
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered health or care professional.
  • Ability to participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
  • Ability to support, supervise, assess, and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners, and healthcare support workers as required within the clinical setting.
