Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Physician to join our dynamic Acute Medicine team at Princess Royal University Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our acute services.

The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and experience in managing patients with acute medical conditions. They will be responsible for providing consultant-led care on Acute Medical Wards and in the Medical Ambulatory Unit, working closely with junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways.

We offer a competitive salary of £150,000 - £250,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as contributory pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, and access to training and development opportunities.

About the Role
  • Provide consultant-led care for patients on Acute Medical Wards and in the Medical Ambulatory Unit.
  • Develop and implement care pathways for patients with acute medical conditions.
  • Work closely with junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Contribute to the development of our acute services, including the expansion of ambulatory assessment and management of patients.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Fully registered with the GMC.
  • Experience in day-to-day organisation of General Medicine on wards services in a busy Teaching Hospital.
  • Familiarity with current structure of UK National Health Service and conversant with recent initiatives and changes.
  • Acute Medical experience.
