Care Support Worker
At Homewood, we provide residential services for adults with learning disabilities. As a Care Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering personalised care and support to our residents. You will provide care and support to help our residents maintain their independence and engage in meaningful activities. This includes assisting with daily activities such as personal care, eating, and drinking, as well as accompanying residents on day trips and facilitating communication.
Our residents have unique physical, mental, social, and emotional needs. As a Care Support Worker, you will use your person-centred approach to focus on their strengths, promote their independence, and tailor your support to meet their specific needs. You will need strong observational skills to closely monitor mental and physical health, responding quickly and appropriately to verbal and non-verbal signs. The wellbeing and safety of our residents will be at the forefront of all your decisions and supported by your excellent communication skills.
We welcome applicants with experience of enabling or providing care, but it is not essential. Your life experience is just as valuable as work experience. You will enjoy working independently, assessing and evaluating situations, and deciding how to respond. You will demonstrate our core values, showing patience, empathy, and compassion. Basic IT skills and accurate information recording skills are also essential.
In return, we offer a comprehensive induction programme, so you will have all the training you need to do a fantastic job. You will also get great satisfaction from ensuring people are safe and comfortable while they stay with us. This role does involve some weekend and bank holiday working, for which enhancements will be paid. The hours you work will be flexible, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.
Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role, and therefore it is essential that you already have the right to work in the UK before applying. Other roles you may have experience of could include Health Care Assistant, Care Worker, Residential Care Assistant, Residential Support Worker, and Support Worker.
