About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Integration Engineer to join our Smart Grid team at Ecotricity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the technical integration of flexible assets into our Ecotricity Smart Grid VPP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish EcoLink connections for asset onboarding
  • Specify and instruct development of new capabilities for our EcoLink device
  • Identify and assist in contract negotiations for procurement of necessary technologies
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders from planning, construction, and operations teams
  • Assess interface requirements of new Grid services
  • Advise VPP Growth Officer on asset alignment with Ancillary Service needs
  • Understand technical requirements of National Grid ancillary services and develop control and monitoring methods
Additional Responsibilities
  • Engage with the Development team to develop service requirements and maintain accurate asset state data
  • Maintain records of asset details, including site locations, SIM card numbers, and IP addresses
  • Contribute to strategy development for the team
  • Attend internal and external meetings for technical input
  • Research and assess viability of emerging flexible technologies
  • Research potential new services from National Grid and Distribution Network Operators
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical understanding of renewable technologies, particularly energy storage. You should have excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as experience with IT communication methods and power system terminology.
