About the Role:
The Earlham Institute is seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. As an Events Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth delivery of our training programme portfolio, including managing logistics, coordinating with teaching faculty, and ensuring the successful execution of events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the training programme portfolio and other events, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Coordinate with teaching faculty to plan and facilitate events, including setting meeting agendas and facilitating discussions.
- Oversee the operational running of events, including logistics, administrative tasks, and budget management.
- Collect and analyze statistics, monitor events, and ensure evaluations and feedback are collected and reported.
- Coordinate post-course evaluation meetings with teaching faculty, including sharing and summarizing delegate feedback.
- Attend and oversee the smooth running of events on-site, hosting and managing virtual delegates as applicable.
- Produce budget forecasts and monitor the budget for individual events.
- Welcome faculty and participants, acting as host at the registration desk onsite, and/or organizing and running pre-course welcome meetings as appropriate for virtual events.
- Support the training programme with IT requirements, including troubleshooting and providing technical support during events.
Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated individual with qualifications or relevant experience in events management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a high attention to detail, enjoy meeting people, and have a strong customer focus and professional attitude.
The successful candidate will be competent with computers, quick to learn, and have experience in events management software. They will be highly organized, approachable, and clear in their communication, both written and orally. Due to the nature of the role, the candidate will be able to work independently as well as part of a team and some out-of-hours work will be required.
What We Offer:
The salary for this role will be within the range £27,750 to £30,500 pro-rata, per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time maternity cover post expected to last for 14 months, which could be shorter or longer depending on when the absent employee returns to work.
The position is offered as 30 hours, with the normal working days expected to be Tuesday-Friday. There is some possibility of an uplift in the hours to full-time.
