Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Alstom Transport UK Ltd.
About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on various projects, including Adessia, HS2, Monorail, and other Urban projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical systems, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD) activities and deliverables.
- Apply mechanical domain instructions, processes, and tools to ensure compliance with QCD commitments.
- Plan and pilot mechanical domain activities and related deliverables, taking into account applicable instructions, processes, and customer requirements.
- Ensure mechanical domain deliverables quality and acceptance by the customer within committed limits.
- Report on mechanical domain activities progress and alert relevant stakeholders in case of issues potentially impacting QCD commitments.
- Define requirements and mechanical interfaces to equipment, including allocated volume, weight, location, etc.
- Monitor assigned mechanical sub-system deliveries conformity with project needs.
- Apply train design rules, processes, and tools to ensure mechanical domain deliverables quality and acceptance by the customer within committed limits.
- Manage production of deliverables in accordance with planning targets on mechanical domain assigned work packages.
- Design products taking into account project requirements, including performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.
- Prepare and document mechanical domain design reviews according to project schedule and follow-up main open actions.
- Resolve project mechanical issues and follow challenging actions.
- Define mitigation plans covering a risk identified on project mechanical domain scope.
- Report on mechanical domain activities progress, anticipating issues, including capacity, skills, rule applicability, etc.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferably applied to Railway products, but also considered for Automotive and Aerospace.
- Excellent time management and reporting skills.
- English operational in read/writing and technical meetings.
