About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated Children In Our Care Social Worker to join our fostering team and play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of children within the foster care system.

This position involves supporting foster families through the licensure process, assessing the suitability of potential foster parents, and providing ongoing support to both children and carers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guide prospective foster families through the licensure process and assess their suitability.
  2. Match children with foster families, considering the child's needs and specific requirements.
  3. Provide continuous support to foster children and families, including counselling and addressing challenges.
  4. Advocate for the child's rights and manage their case, coordinating with other professionals to create a comprehensive care plan.
  5. Support children and biological families in adjusting to foster care placement and work toward reunification if possible.
  6. Maintain high standards of data quality on social care systems and ensure confidentiality of personal information.
Requirements:
  1. A Social Work degree or equivalent recognised qualification.
  2. At least 2 years' experience in children's services.
  3. Possess essential skills and knowledge in social work practice, law, and policies.
  4. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Show ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and meet deadlines.
