About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Finance Business Partners to join our Financial Services team at Devon County Council. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial advice and support to budget holders and senior officers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a Finance Assistant or Systems Accountant
  • Provide robust financial advice on all financial matters
  • Set budgets, carry out budget monitoring, and close accounts for assigned services
  • Lead on ad hoc projects and tasks within Financial Services
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial support and deliver efficiencies in the service

Requirements
  • CCAB qualified or part qualified, with significant experience in an equivalent role
  • Significant technical understanding of Local Government accounting
  • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office software and financial software
  • Previous management experience is advantageous
