Electrical Systems Manager - Cross Cutting

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Manager to join our Cross Cutting team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise across the lifecycle of Electrical Systems for our new type of nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a team of electrical engineers to deliver the complete design of Electrical Systems, spanning system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification and design/selection.
  • Apply a structured systems engineering approach to design and work closely with engineering teams from across the power station.
  • Manage the work of electrical or multi-discipline designers and develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including those for electrical components such as switchgear, transformers, and cabling.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical power engineering in a design function, with experience in the design of modular HV and LV distribution systems and cable systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical design packages and experience in developing electrical requirements to support HV and LV electrical architecture.
  • Previous experience working within the nuclear industry is not essential, but a proven record of working across the electrical system lifecycle is required.
  • Ideally, you will hold a degree-level qualification in electrical engineering or a related subject.
