About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic primary school community in Newham. This role is crucial in helping children with diverse learning needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, including ADHD and self-harming behaviors.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement tailored support plans and interventions.
  • Offer crucial assistance across Key Stages 1 and 2, adapting to the needs of different age groups.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, promoting their holistic development.

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Nursery or Early Years Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • A proactive, resilient individual who can uphold high standards and bring out the best in pupils.
  • A strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
  • The ability to support with nappy changing and cater to individual special educational needs.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
