Job Overview
Babcock, a leading provider of communications engineering services, is seeking an ambitious Communications Engineering Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Communications Engineering department, you will be responsible for building skills in communications equipment, IT systems, and computer networks. This 3-year apprenticeship program offers a competitive apprentice wage, technical experience, and academic qualifications.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is £25,000 - £30,000, depending on location and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of communication systems
  • Performance tests and fault diagnosis
  • Repairing and restoring vital communication systems and services

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at C/4 grade, including English and Maths at Grade B/6
  • Demonstrate passion for engineering and proactive problem-solving approach

Training and Development
The apprenticeship includes structured training programs, formal BTEC courses every 6 weeks on subjects like Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Systems, and Telecommunications. You will work towards Level 3 Radio Network Technician Apprenticeship, Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Telecommunications, and Level 3 Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles.
