Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Young People's Health and Wellbeing Worker to provide therapeutic interventions, guidance and training to our more complex young people, promoting the improvement of their emotional wellbeing and transition out of formal mental health services.
The role involves working with young people virtually, on the phone or in various venues across Essex, including their homes, schools or community venues. This requires a UK driving license and flexibility to travel across Essex, with mileage payable in line with our expenses policy.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct therapeutic input to improve emotional health and wellbeing and relationships with peers and adults.
- Work directly with young people presenting with emotional health and wellbeing concerns, including anxiety, sadness and traumatic stress.
- Facilitate trust and relationship building between service users, professionals and families.
- Work within clinical governance frameworks to ensure a safe, high-quality service.
- Attend MDT meetings to support transitions and problem-solve blocks to support.
- Partner with agencies to implement seamless care pathways.
- Provide supervisory support and training to our Peer Mentor.
- Accurately record therapeutic interventions and outcomes.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection concerns are reported and information is provided in required timeframes.
- Comply with PCS policies and procedures.
- Recognised therapy qualification or relevant experience.
- Effective collaboration with mental health professionals.
- Background in social care, youth work or related area.
- Experience working with children and young people and their families, preferably in emotional health and wellbeing.
- Experience managing own caseload.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
