Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Recreation Instructor to join our team at Utah State University. As a key member of our Campus Life Department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and teaching outdoor recreational activities for USU students.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead outdoor trips and activities for USU students, ensuring a safe and educational experience.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for outdoor education courses, including canyoneering and adventure education.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Life Department to enhance the outdoor program and promote student engagement.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students on outdoor skills and safety protocols.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to ensure a positive learning experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in outdoor education and recreation.
Qualifications
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in outdoor education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of outdoor safety protocols, first aid, and emergency response strategies.
  • Experience in planning and leading outdoor trips and activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and may involve physical demands such as hiking, climbing, and lifting.
