We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Paediatric Intensive Care pharmacy team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective pharmaceutical care to our patients.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to develop their skills and experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a pharmaceutical Medicines Management service to patients, including record accurate written medication reconciliations and assessing patients' own drugs for suitability.
- Counsel and give advice to patients and their carers on their medications, and final check of clinically screened prescriptions.
- Accurately record patient medicine reconciliation and assess suitability of patient's own medication.
- Work independently and accurately under pressure, prioritising and organising routine daily tasks using your own initiative.
- Plan, organise and deliver training and assessment, motivating yourself and others.
- Communicate routine, more complex and sensitive information effectively using clear written and spoken English, and overcome barriers to understanding.
- Clearly and accurately complete complex routine and non-routine documentation, working to set procedures and using pharmacy computer and IT skills.
- Registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- NVQ Pharmacy services Level 3 plus an accredited underpinning knowledge.
- Completion of or working towards a recognised Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
