Job Overview

A dynamic team in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a skilled designer to join and expand the design department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with the studio director and lead designer to drive project success.
  2. Support various disciplines, including mission scripts and UE4 implementation, to ensure seamless game development.
  3. Facilitate clear communication among team members and align with project goals to achieve outstanding results.
  4. Work collaboratively with departments and external studios to enhance systems and tools, driving innovation and efficiency.
  5. Assist in managing team workload and productivity, ensuring timely project delivery.
  6. Offer feedback and ideas for controls and gameplay, contributing to the creation of engaging player experiences.
  7. Adapt designs based on feedback from management and publishers, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
  8. Test builds and report issues before stakeholder reviews, ensuring high-quality game development.
  9. Stay informed on competitive products across all platforms, maintaining a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
  10. Maintain clear documentation for production tracking and idea sharing, facilitating effective team collaboration.
  11. Provide detailed bug reports and collaborate on new gameplay concepts, driving innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Computer Science or Game Design with programming focus preferred, or equivalent experience.
  2. Strong communication, technical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  3. Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing workload efficiently.
  4. Motivated, positive, and collaborative team player, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  5. Adaptable with strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail, ensuring seamless game development.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record of success in game development.
  2. Credit on at least one published title, demonstrating expertise and creativity.
  3. Experience with Unreal Engine or similar, with a strong understanding of game development pipelines.
  4. Proficiency in coding or scripting, with the ability to write efficient and effective code.
