Quantitative Analyst for Option Valuation

About the Role:

Chevron is seeking a skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our team in London, UK. As a Quantitative Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing, validating, and supporting existing and new models/tools to value and optimize LNG deals/portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement, validate, and support existing and new models/tools, and use them to value and optimize new LNG deals/portfolio.
  2. Support portfolio optimization efforts through valuation of optionality and risks within the existing LNG portfolio.
  3. Deliver high-quality code, including reviewing and improving the existing code within pre-defined deadlines.
  4. Remain knowledgeable about the development of quantitative models and techniques, and upgrade models/tools where appropriate.
  5. Provide relevant quantitative analyses to assist the commercial decision-making process.

Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree or above in a quantitative discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
  2. Exposure to Energy Markets (e.g., LNG, gas, power, or environmental product markets).
  3. Option valuing experience in a trading or risk management environment as a Quantitative Analyst is required.
  4. Good understanding of optimization principles, probability, stochastic calculus, and financial concepts.
  5. Proficiency in Python / C++ required. Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Java) is advantageous.
  6. Good interpersonal skills, both with team colleagues and stakeholders.
  7. Ability to communicate model outputs and analysis results in a clear, simple, and concise manner.
  8. Fluency in English required.
