Job Title: Yard Supervisor

To support the operations of our busy Chandlers Ford branch, Selwood Pump Rental Solutions are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Yard Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist with various duties in conjunction with the loading and unloading of lorries to ensure timely delivery of our pumps and associated equipment.
  • Identify and report any hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents promptly and according to company reporting procedures.
  • Physically assist with loading and unloading of vehicles, checking hiring items against paperwork, missing & damaged items, and fuel charges.
  • Carry out post-hires for equipment such as Road Ramps, Drips Trays, etc.
  • Assist other staff members with tasks as instructed, including lifting, moving, in depot or on-site.
  • Clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop, using pressure washing equipment, and be responsible for the organization of the kit and the yard team to clean the equipment.
  • Communicate accurately to your supervisor, work colleagues, and customers regarding job specifications when required.
  • Conduct daily checks of the yard to ensure it is a safe working environment and identify potential hazards and risks, removing and reporting as required.
  • Relay key information about movements on site (including toolbox talks) to the yard team and ensure it is being embedded into the ways of working.
  • Help prepare ancillaries and accessories for all jobs going out on hire.
  • Carry out small deliveries and collections to or from customer's sites, suppliers, or within our branch network to agreed timelines.
  • Regular flexibility to support the team by working overtime as and when required by the business, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
  • Previous work history within a similar environment.
  • Good communicator with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience working in a team with supervising experience preferred.
  • Forklift Licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Reliability is essential for this position.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Physically fit due to the nature of the work within this role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
