About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Delivery Manager to join our team at the Health and Safety Executive. As a key member of our digital team, you will be responsible for leading Agile teams and delivering user-centered business and service digital products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and enable multi-disciplinary teams through multiple phases, ensuring clarity of scope and managing blockers/issues.
  • Manage Azure Dev Ops boards and facilitate regular communication to motivate and align the team.
  • Ensure the delivery of services in an agile environment, applying agile principles and practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain best methods of delivery and set standards and expectations for digital teams.
  • Deal with ambiguity and conflict, establishing a team culture that allows for constructive criticism and feedback.
  • Manage plans, risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary and owning them until resolved.
  • Report progress at Project/Programme governance and actively manage change and governance activity.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure interdependencies are jointly owned and managed between parties.
  • Develop and utilize meaningful metrics and visualizations to measure progress and ensure the project remains on track.
  • Owning and building relationships with technical teams, Product Owners, and senior stakeholders to ensure two-way communication and shared goals.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading the delivery of digital products and service standards.
  • Experience of delivering products and services at pace in an agile environment and creating the environment for success.
  • Experience of working with other digital, data, and technology (DDaT) roles, job families, and professions in a multi-disciplined team.
  • Good understanding of agile principles and practices.
  • Experience of having successfully led teams through the full product life cycle, optimizing the delivery flow of teams and identifying innovative ways to unblock issues.
  • Evidence of leading a continual planning process in a complex environment, planning beyond product delivery, and delivering sustainable, supportable digital products/services.
  • Ability to translate technical terms and facilitate relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand, empathize with, negotiate, and influence individuals, stakeholders, and groups.
  • Experience of meeting the needs of users across various channels, bringing insight and expertise to ensure user needs are met by the business.
Qualifications
  • A relevant Scrum Master/Agile Project Manager qualification, such as Scrum Alliance or equivalent.
