Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef in the preparation and cooking of nutritious meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and minimizing food waste.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Support the Chef in managing kitchen budgets and stock levels, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and safe environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen role, preferably in a childcare setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor.
