Veterinary Medicine Research Statistician

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical support to multiple discovery, development, and product defense projects in Veterinary Medicine Research and Development and Global Hatchery, and US Commercial, primarily for poultry but can be across multiple species. This includes both development of vaccines, biodevices, and outcomes research trials to evaluate competitive performance in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze clinical, laboratory, and DOE studies
  • Develop innovative approaches for statistical analysis
  • Review statistical literature for practical implementation
  • Participate on project teams and serve as a liaison between Statistics and other departmental groups
  • Assist in the training of scientists and engineers in experimental design and related topics

Requirements:

  • MS in Biostatistics/Statistics or related field with at least 10 years of direct work experience in the pharmaceutical, medical or bio device industry
  • PhD in Biostatistics/Statistics preferably with 6 years of industry experience

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC-SAS
  • Knowledge of experimental design, mixed linear and non-linear model methodologies, survival analysis and categorical data analysis
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments methodology
  • Knowledge of measurement systems analysis and assay validation methodologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication and statistical consulting skills along with the ability to work effectively with both domestic and international colleagues remotely
  • Ability to critically review scientific publications
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and significant attention to detail
  • Works well in a team environment

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience with clinical and laboratory trials for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine products and with engineering device research
  • Knowledge of poultry industry
  • Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis using JMP software
  • Knowledge of other programming platforms such as R and Python
  • Experience with GCP and GLP principles
