Senior Electrical Superintendent with Expertise in E&I Services

Shorterm Group is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Superintendent to join their team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation services, providing engineering, construction, commissioning, and maintenance services.

This long-term contract role will require occasional travel and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can assist the Construction Manager in executing and monitoring all E&I works. This includes ensuring all aspects of the works are carried out safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing the installation and testing of electrical, instrumentation, communications, telecoms, and fire and gas systems. They will also be responsible for supervising the electrical (HT/LT/MV/LV) installation and testing works, as well as instrumentation certification and installation works.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist Construction Manager to execute and monitor all E&I works.
  2. Ensure all aspects of the works are carried out in the safest manner at all times.
  3. Manage the installation and testing of Electrical, Instrumentation, Communications, Telecoms, and F&G systems.
  4. Supervise the Electrical (HT/LT/MV/LV) installation and testing works.
  5. Supervise the Instrumentation certification and installation works.
  6. Troubleshoot E&I system/program issues.
  7. Ensure ITP compliance and document compilation.
  8. Coordinate with other Building Services teams.
  9. Ensure full compliance with Safety and Schedule requirements.
  10. Monitor labor productivity against budget man-hours.
  11. Manage Foremen, Chargehands, and crews.
  12. Evaluate materials and installation for compliance with specifications.
  13. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality of works delivered.
  14. Review Method Statements of Works and prepare FLRA's with crews.
  15. Perform FAT and SAT inspections.
  16. Conduct system line checks, field instrument checks, and certifications.
  17. Perform calibration, functional checks, loop checks, and respective testing.
  18. System walk-downs, line checks, and punch-listing.
  19. Troubleshoot and clear all punch items and closure.
  20. Experience in Pre-com & COM validation of respective systems.
  21. Close coordination with project teams and trade members.
  22. Review and interpret drawings/shop drawings.
  23. Manage sub-contractors and monitor progress and reporting.
  24. Handle Walk-down, Punch-listing, Clearing, and Closure.
  25. Interface and Coordinate with Client/QP representatives.
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in E&I trades and a minimum of 5-10 years' experience post-qualification. They will also have knowledge of good engineering practices and be well-versed in interpreting construction drawings to review and comment.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, and Heavy Industrial Industries is required. The candidate should be familiar with Permit to Work environments and FastTrack project environments.

Fitness for construction/Oil & Gas/site environments is essential, as is being independent and proactive. The successful candidate must be prepared to work extended hours per site requirement and be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
