We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our team. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing motor claims from inception to settlement, ensuring that all claims are handled in accordance with company procedures and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage motor claims, including those that have exited the MOJ and OIC Portals
  • Proactively deal with cases, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained and that claims are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure that reserves are appropriately amended and that inactive cases are regularly reviewed
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriters and claims managers

Requirements:

  • Adaptable and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Confident in handling telephone queries
  • Experience of handling claims for an insurer, rather than a claimant

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Sound understanding of motor claims processes
  • Experience of handling potentially fraudulent claims
  • Ability to negotiate best possible settlements and make sound decisions
