Aerothermal Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Aerothermal Engineer to join our dynamic team at HybridAero. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in advancing the future of sustainable aviation by developing and enhancing our proprietary software for hybrid-electric propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and implement software solutions to calculate optimal performance layouts for hybrid-electric propulsion systems in aircraft.
  • Develop computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies and experimental tests to validate aerodynamic models, generating computer-aided design (CAD) designs to efficiently analyze and solve complex aerodynamic problems.
  • Analyze and disseminate results from various sources, including empirical data, CFD, wind tunnel, and flight tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and innovative product development.
  • Continuously strive to improve both our aerothermal and company processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in aviation to drive continuous improvement in our software tools.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in aerothermal engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with an appreciation of overall aircraft design and the potential of hybrid-electric propulsion.
  • Familiarity with CAD and CFD software, preferably Siemens NX and STAR-CCM+.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent, with a keen desire to apply this to software development for aerospace applications.
  • Willingness to develop and lead complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with a preference for hybrid or fully remote working.
