About the Role

The Headteacher will be responsible for promoting a culture of high-quality, creative learning, delivering educational needs, and maximizing pupil achievement.

Key Objectives
  1. Deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils and young people, reflecting their needs, abilities, and aptitudes.
  2. Create a safe environment that protects the welfare of pupils, young people, and staff.
  3. Meet all statutory requirements, achieving the highest inspection ratings possible.
  4. Lead a motivated staff group, fully engaged in achieving excellence in all areas of school life.
  5. Ensure the commercial success of the school, with 100% occupancy, rigorous cost management, and growth plans.
  6. Develop and implement effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement.
  7. Foster a shared vision, aligning with the Acorn Group strategy, inspiring and motivating students, staff, and the school community.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent.
  • Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
  • Ability to lead and provide a clear vision.
  • Understanding that leadership and management encompass processes contributing to pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and more.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of NPQH.
  • Experience of conducting performance management.
  • Experience of appointing, managing, and inducting staff.
  • Experience of planning the curriculum across a range of ages and abilities.
