Housing Expert Senior Solicitor

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality legal services and guidance across the group, acting as a trusted business partner.
- Manage a caseload of contentious housing management matters, including possession action, disrepair, anti-social behaviour cases, and property litigation disputes.
- Provide policy advice and support the management of legal risks across the organization.
- Represent Paradigm in Court and Tribunals as required.
- Develop and lead training sessions for colleagues, helping them become informed clients when engaging with external legal services.
- Work with the Head of Legal on strategic projects, deputising as needed and drafting well-structured reports on legal matters for senior stakeholders.
- Actively engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and seek feedback to support professional growth and enhance legal team expertise.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll be a qualified Solicitor (minimum 8 years' post-admission experience) or Barrister with expertise in contentious landlord and tenant matters.
You'll be confident working independently, adept at managing relationships at all levels, and able to deliver high-quality results under pressure. Your skills in networking, negotiation, and influencing will allow you to support colleagues effectively, and your ability to explain complex legal issues in clear terms will make you a trusted advisor within the organization.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate or Barrister called to the Bar (minimum 8 years post-qualification)
- Proven expertise in housing management, anti-social behaviour, property litigation, including residential landlord/tenant law
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil procedure rules, residential landlord and tenant law, and contract law
- Strong networking, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to communicate clearly across a wide variety of audiences
- Experience managing relationships with senior leaders, producing high-quality written and verbal reports, and working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience supporting Boards and Committees, ideally in multiple sectors and/or within group structures
- Knowledge of the social housing, charity/not-for-profit, or property sectors is advantageous
Salary Details
The estimated annual salary for this position is £69,595 + excellent benefits, based on the location of High Wycombe and hybrid working arrangements.
