Clinical Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Supervisor to join our Respiratory Care Department at Care New England Health System.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the manager with the administrative tasks of overseeing the department, with a focus on clinical supervision of evening and morning shifts' respiratory therapy personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and Direct Staff: Schedule, direct, and assign employees' workflow activities in the department. Monitor and evaluate staff performances. Oversee the orientation and training of new employees.
- Clinical Resource Person: Function as a clinical resource person to provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the respiratory therapy staff. Respond to respiratory related issues and concerns of all interdisciplinary team members during the evening and night shift.
- Policies and Procedures: Communicate new and revised policies and procedures and assist in explaining new procedures to staff to ensure a continuity of care between all shifts. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures related to respiratory services.
- Education and Training: Evaluate the educational needs of staff, coordinate in-service activities for staff, and assist in interdisciplinary in-services opportunities as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics to optimize patient outcomes, department efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Clinical Instruction: Function as a primary clinical instructor for CCRI and NEIT students when students are performing their clinical rotations at Kent Hospital on the evening shift.
- Department Meetings: Participate in all appropriate department and hospital meetings.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Provide flexibility in schedule by performing patient care assignments as scheduled and in times of increased workload and reduced staffing in order to maintain safe staffing.
A Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field. Degree may be in progress. Minimum of three years job-related experience. Current RI Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC RRT credential required.
