Job Title: Principal Safety Assessment Specialist

Spinwell is seeking a highly skilled Principal Safety Assessment Specialist to join our team in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Safety Assessment Specialists in the production and delivery of safety justification/documentation and governance processes.
  • Take ownership of safety justification/documentation as directed by Group Leader, Nuclear Safety or SESH Management.
  • Ensure company strategies, policies, and management system requirements for safety are communicated and understood.
  • Contribute to processes assessing performance of safety assessments and Licence Condition compliance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist with verification and checking of safety documentation.
  • Mentor others in safety assessment approaches, documentation, and techniques.
  • Maintain and promote high standards in security, environment, safety, and health.
Requirements:
  • Experience in nuclear hazard analysis (HAZAN): Design Basis Assessment.
  • Unmitigated dose assessments to derive safety function classification.
  • Derivation of classification of required safety systems.
  • Understanding of types of protection methods and substantiation of those required.
  • HAZARD Identification.
  • Experience in Management of Safety cases.
