**Job Role Summary**

The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role within the mechanical department at Irwin M&Es, working on MTC Contracts using PSA schedules of rates. This role will involve working closely with Contract Managers/Supervisors to plan, schedule, and carry out work, as well as liaising with clients and consultants to negotiate and build relationships.

**Key Responsibilities**


  • Work alongside Contract Managers/Supervisors to plan, schedule, and carry out work
  • Liaise, negotiate, and build relationships with clients and consultants
  • Arrange and conduct regular QS meetings with clients to ensure measures are agreed promptly and proactively
  • Prepare pre-measured budget costs and prepare measurements for final account/interim valuations
  • Deal with client queries and negotiate valuations/measurements
  • Attend meetings and undertake site visits

**Requirements**


  • C&G Level 2&3 in Mechanical Engineering Services
  • Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
  • IT literate, proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel or similar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good team ethos
  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
  • To be self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks
  • An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Full driving licence

**Desirable Criteria**


  • Worked with Measured Term Contracts
  • Experience in Education, Healthcare, and Commercial sectors
  • Use of specialised software packages such as Amtech Contract Costing
  • HNC Building Services Engineering or higher
  • CSR Card
