This is an exciting opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills in a busy assessment unit, working closely with same day emergency care and the emergency department to maintain timely and safe patient flow. You will be accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures, budget management, and providing effective leadership for all nurses, clinical support workers, clerks, and ward housekeepers employed by the service.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care and promote a culture of excellence within the acute division.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow and reduce waiting times in the emergency department.
- Ensure the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures, including the implementation of the Infection Control Strategy.
- Manage the budget for the assessment unit and ensure effective use of resources.
- Provide effective leadership and support to all staff, including nurses, clinical support workers, clerks, and ward housekeepers.
- 1st level registration as a nurse.
- ILS (Intermediate Life Support) certification.
- Accident and emergency course or Advanced Health Assessment and diagnostic indicators Course or equivalent.
- Degree to Bsc level.
- Relevant post-registration qualifications.
- ALS (Advanced Life Support) provider certification.
- PILS (Paediatric Immediate Life Support) or APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support) certification.
